i am presently using oxy 10's maybe 1 to 1 and1/2 every now nad then to find relief for an arthritic back problem. other arthritic pain medications seem to bother my stomach while the oxy 10s dont and i feel fine taking them.can you tell me what benefits methadone would do for me.sincerely, francis

First of all, your right you need a very urgent response. You say you are taking a 1/2 now and then? Worst thing you can do. Can end in overdose and death. Not only that, but Oxycontin is highly addictive. Trust me. I know and I know many former oxy patients, dead and alive, who have gone through hell to get off them. Please, find some other substitute. Even if it costs you a little stomach upset. There are aids to help with that. Oxy is for people who will die, and it makes no difference of it's horrible, nightmare, side effects. Those 10's will soon become 20's and sooner will become 30's, and all the while you will get the BS about "dependence vs addiction", or "if you take it according to doc's instructions. NO SUCH THING. Walkaway from that poison NOW, before the time comes, and believe me it will, that you can't. By that time your body wont care about the so called dispute over patient = dependence, bad person = addiction. Your body will crave in the same excrutiating way, no matter who or "what" you are. Most of all , get educated fast. You will see immediately what I mean about never, never cut that pill in half and take it. Doesn't work that way. As for the folks who support this killer drug, they talk as puppets, exactly the way the Pharmaceutical company who manufactures the stuff have propagandized them to do. Good luck and God Bless
It is clear you are not a doctor,you should know that a little stomach upset can be in future an hemorraghe, so that if someone has a cronic arthritic process, it will last for whole life and to take care from pain is one thing we (doctors)can do. To prescribe an opioid retard as it is needed will make some physiological changes in body but is not the point to discuss, as it is pain intensity, this is because life quality is most important aspect in this class of cronic pain diseases. Other point are parmaceutical companies that make an excesive profit from someone else pain
Hi, im a oxy user and have been for the past 6 months. In the beginning it was 40's ever now and then(snorted) but towards the end it was two 80's a day(snorted) and getting over that was a crushing blow. It works like this, take that pill, and everythings great, no cares or worries, have a sense of well being. This pill does everything for you. BUT!!! if you so choose this, you loose your life, anything you looked forward to, shambles. Wait untill your family finds out, or your family, how care free will it be then? learn fast, never ever ever, and i cant stress this enough, dont ever take the time release off(the color part) and ONLY! use them as directed, because some people with stomach cancer or other very harmful things might need somethin to help em out. i hope this gets through to someone...good luck.
I to have used oxy, pretty much along the same lines as the other post and getting over it is one of the hardest things ever, esp to a teen that has the ''no way, im not addicted'' attitude. Well if you think you can beat it cold turkey, then ejnoy no sleep, cold sweats, throwing up, leg spasms, back pain, possible stomach ulcer and my personal favorite, reality!!! it hits you in the face pretty quick, dont be a fool, get help. good luck, and godspeed.
You must stop now before its too late. Once they take a hold of you nothing else will matter, i.e kids,partner,job,etc. except your fix. I pray that you will have the strength to stop now before its too late.
I have been taaking 25mg oxy a day fo r the last 9 months for back problems, well I have ran out too early and I am feeling like I am dying.....10 more days till a refill . Should I try to go to an ER. I am dying here.....

can your doctor refuse to refill your script of percocet and oxycontin 20> I am in counselling for use of cocaine. My question what do I do now? I tried mthodone but this does not help with chronic pain from a car accident, meth only helps with the opiate withdrawals ;shakes, sweasts mooediness, restless legs, etc
I am wondering if I can suing for malpractice...I mean I have been 9on opiate3s sinc e my accident in 1992 and here we are in 2010, do the math, now he throws me to the streets to buy or go to a meth clinic
