At a news conference 16 June LA Police Chief Beck and Sheriff Baca "decried the proposal ... to eliminate state funding for treating heroin addicts [with methadone]". Those against methadone treatment, as well as those who don't care one way or the other as long as it's provided in someone else's backyard, take note! What do top cops know that you might not? The strong support for methadone maintenance treatment is the wrong way for opiate addict patients, since it does in no way solve the addiction problem. The NARCONON program provides the best treatment facility, that ends in a drugfree condition. The shift from opiate to methadone justies the addiction status.

Treatment drug addicts with another drug,in the long run will have a negativ impact on the patient's future life. Such programs never end up in a drugfree condition. Narconon is available. Narconon methods have minimum 72% positiv results.

Who says you have to be "drug free" to live a good, productive and quality life?

Your idea that only people who are drug and medication free are living a good life is a slap in the face to anyone who needs to take mental health meds, cholestrol meds, hypertension meds, diabetic meds or epilepsy medications.
Drug addiction is a disease of obsession, and only a person who is free of this obsession is in recovery....so your analogy of drug for a drug makes no sense. We aren't treating drug use, we are treating drug ADDICTION. There is a huge difference between using a drug that creates an obsession that takes over every aspect of your life, your happiness and your personality and the use of a medication that allows you freedom from that obsession. If you don't get that, you don't get addiction. Its just a form of OCD where the obsession is a drug instead of germs or hoarding. And stopping someone from using drugs does nothing to take the obsession away.

Drug users will in the lomg run turn to be addicts. Why must we wait till drug users turn to become addicts and then provide them with sum treatment, most substitution therapy, which will never end up in a drugfree state. The Narconon provides the best prevention program that will stopp drug users to turn up addicts.
Do never deal with diabetes, hypertension ext.on the same bases with drug use and addiction. Heroine, cocaine, cannabis....have a strong negative effect on behaviour, and mental states.
Why a drugfree future is a problem.

What a strange perspective Dr.Hermon Mihranian from Narcanon displays. Since when do we expect any treatment of any chronic relapsing condition to solve the problem? Does insulin solve the diabetes problem? Anti-retroviral agents solve the HIV-AIDS problem_? Cardiac transplants solve the killer cardiac problems plaguing millions of Americans? Think it over . . . . and for those who feel Narcanon offers help and hope - terrific. But no need to badmouth other approaches that have been nothing short of lifesavers for patients and a great boon for communities.

I am not talking about diabetes, hypertension and or cardiac problems. Drug addiction is what I am refering too. Narconon methods are very effective in treating drug addicts.

Remember that drug abuse in the long run causes addiction and ends up in brain damage. So treating drug addicts with another drug is not the solution.
