DETOX UNDER SEDATION OR ANESTHESIA:

A Cochrane collaboration publication, while acknowledging that "the diversity and small number of studies limits the strength of conclusions..." found: "The increased risk of clinically significant adverse events associated with withdrawal under heavy sedation or anaesthesia make the value of aneaesthesia-assisted antagonist-induced withdrawal questionable." Cochrane Collaboration, 2010, Issue 1.

I've had a few friends that have taken this route and they weren't happy with the results. A few of them complaining of being sent home in withdrawal and all of them saying the cravings were unbearable.

Detox centers and the like have been part of the lives of those people who intensely take much consideration on their health for them to live the most out of their lives.
